The GRAPE Big Taste Test

Share & Help Me Grow

Ruble studied the letter G this week so what else could we taste but GRAPES!

I purchased three different colors of seedless grapes for the children to try. Each child was given a plate with ten grapes in each color and a sheet I made for them to record their findings. (Free download below.)

The first step was to color the picture of the grapes to match what was on the plate. Then, the children measured the size of the grapes. This was a little tricky since the grapes are round and everything Lira has ever measured has been flat.

It really helped to have a transparent ruler.

Next, the children marked the shape of the grapes and the smell. No surprise that Lira thought they all smelled like grape juice.

The next column is for taste. Franc was a little more creative than Lira and he labeled them with flavors like dessert: cupcakes, chocolate and fruit parfait.

Ruble just though they all tasted like grapes.

Finally, the children marked the box for their favorite type of grape.

This is where we developed a problem. Franc’s favorite color is green so he thought the green grapes should win. Unfortunately, Ruble and Lira liked the red grapes.

Our GRAPE Big Taste Test almost turned into the Great BIG Fist Fight.

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
