Tuesday Topics: Writing for Coupons

Share & Help Me Grow

mail

I believe in being a satisfied customer.  Not the snooty, rude kind but I want to feel like I am getting what I paid for and I love leaving feedback when I do and when I do not.

Last night, the children had soup for dinner.  There was nothing wrong with the soup except it was completely missing broth.  The children thought that was great because the broth is their least favorite part.  Still, I thought this would be a good opportunity to ask for some coupons.

Writing a company for coupons is an excellent way to get high value coupons for the products you use the most. However, do not make up a situation just to write the company.  If you have a comment about a particular product you purchased or a complaint, save the box or can to get the manufacturing information.  If you have a compliment, you can give them the additional information or not.

Here is the letter that I emailed to Campbell’s Soup:

Dear Campbell’s,
Thank you for continuously pursuing quality products.  I know that I am feeding my children something wholesome when I put a bowl of your soup in front of them. Completely overshadows the feelings of laziness since it takes only minutes to prepare.

Their favorite soup is the Chicken Alphabet but recently, the store was out and I purchase the Chicken NoodleO’s.  I was shocked when I opened the can and discovered the can was without broth.  It was jam-packed with noodles, which my children adored, but I was curious as the label clearly states that the soup contains “shaped noodles with chicken in broth.”

As you make note of this comment, if you have any coupons available to pass along, I would be happy to receive them as we indulge in your products on a weekly basis.

Did they respond? YES!

Here is their response:

We received your message and appreciate the time you took to contact Campbell Soup Company. I’m sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with the Campbell’s Condensed Chicken NoodleOs Soup you purchased.

We thoroughly monitor the ingredient blending process during each step of the product’s preparation. Despite all of these precautions, it appears that the Campbell’sCondensed Chicken NoodleOs Soup you purchased was not properly prepared.

At Campbell, our number one priority is to delight our consumers. By bringing your comments to our attention, you have helped support our high quality standards.

Please accept the coupon I am sending in the mail with my apologies for any inconvenience you may have experienced. The coupon can be redeemed for any product in the Campbell family of brands including V8, Prego, Pace and P epperidge Farm.

Thank you for visiting the Campbell Soup Company website.

That is some AWESOME customer service!

Contacting companies, whether you are dissatisfied or just really enjoy their products, can fill up your mailbox with coupons… and show you how awesome these companies really are.
