Empty those cereal boxes and create cute Valentine’s Day mailboxes using coloring pages and scrapbook paper.
Last year, I gathered the children to head to our area’s homeschool Valentine’s Day party and as a quick after-thought, grabbed a few gift bags for the children to collect their cards. I had no idea that our plain gift boxes would be sitting on the table next to amazing Valentine’s Day card boxes made from cereal boxes.
This year, I wanted to do something totally AWESOME!
So, I sat down with each child one at a time. Together, we crafted a Valentine’s Day card box from a cereal box.
Based on what they wanted, I searched the internet for coloring pages and had them set to work with markers and a pair of scissors.
While they worked on the coloring pages, I grabbed scrapbook paper, construction paper, glue, and clear packing tape.
The ending results amazed me because each child’s personality really reflected in their box: Super Mario Bros, My Little Pony, Minecraft, and Equestria Girls.
The kids loved their boxes so much that they almost couldn’t keep their hands off them, and when the party came, I was so prepared. No more gift bags for us! Who knew that cereal boxes could be transformed into such cute Valentine’s Day card boxes?!
