Waterproof Bible Review & Giveaway

Share & Help Me Grow

My Bible was sitting on the coffee table, still open from a morning chat with God. Ariary was toddling around, singing her happy sounds and I was not paying much attention until I heard… RIP!

Mommy! Ariary broke your Bible!!!

Now, these pages had been through a LOT. My Bible is over 15 years old and it is spotted, stained, marked, dated… but this was the first time that I had to look around for Psalm 39 and 40.

Fast-forward the story to last week. I was given a copy of the New King James Version Waterproof Bible (New Testament) by Bardin & Marsee for a review. When I first heard of the Waterproof Bible, I was intrigued and pictures this clunky Bible with plastic pages stuck together with static cling like the pages of a photo album. However, the Bible I received was nothing like that.

Waterproof Bible Features

The Waterproof Bible has durable synthetic pages but not the kind that I thought. The pages do not feel like plastic. Honestly, they feel like thick paper… but not too thick. My neighbor even thumbed through it when she was here last night and was flabbergasted at how light the Bible was.

Because the Bible is waterproof and stain resistant, you can be worry-free where ever you take you Bible. I would consider it an excellent resource for a fireman, police officer, fishermen, outdoorsy-hiking people, golfers, those who enjoy camping, beach enthusiasts, lifeguards, military personnel, missionaries… I could go on.

If you enjoy marking in your Bible and are wondering how that works with the Waterproof Bible, rest easy. You can use dry highlighters and ball point pens to write and underline without the concern of your marks bleeding through the page.

Oh, and get this… the Waterproof Bible floats!

Yes, I did. And YES, it did!

Wondering how it dries? The instructions are right inside the first page.

The Rest of the Story

So, the Waterproof Bible was sitting on the dining table right next to my laptop… and Ariary’s booster seat. Bill was getting her seated for dinner when she grabbed up the Bible. Immediately, Bill snatched it away. “Oh no,” he chided, “not again.”

I thought for a brief second and said, “On second thought, let’s see what she can do.”

The Waterproof Bible is officially baby-proof. While I am certain the pages could be removed if you tried, they are not the thin pages of an ordinary Bible. That is why I am donating my copy to one of our military overseas. I could let the Bible get rough and tumble abuse here, but I would rather bless a soldier with the incredibly durable Word of God. Hmmm… “Incredibly durable” in more ways than one.

I would love to be able to take my Bible anywhere and not worry about it getting damaged. It would get stuffed in my bag next to the toy cars, crayons, and snacks and still survive!

We would use it as our every day Bible for our home school. That way I wouldn’t have to worry about the kids spilling a drink on it or anything like that.

This was a birthday gift from my dad. I had never been more excited for a gift, it truly is amazing! I love that I don’t have to worry about it getting wet or dirty because you can easily clean it off with a wet cloth. The material is very durable, the pages feel like very thin plastic. I did have a hard time hilighting my bible because the ink would just wipe off with a regular hilighters, I had to buy special bible hilighters that claim to not go through thin bible pages (though I didn’t have to worry about that in this case). I love my waterproof bible I take it everywhere and I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves reading God’s word on the go rain or shine!
