If you chose your attendants wisely, the people involved in your BIG DAY will put a lot of time, effort and money into YOU. It is almost embarrassing to think about how much my attendants did for me and how little I actually did for them… and they deserved more.
Giving a special gift to your attendants does not have to be costly. Many brides purchase jewelry for the attendants to wear during the wedding. Others make personalized stationary to give. Regardless of what you decide to give, give it with sincerity and love. The way you give a gift is almost more important than what you give… but it you are lacking frugal gift ideas, go check THIS out.
Giving a token of appreciation to your guests is also nice but keep it simple. The original idea behind the wedding cake was to send pieces home with the guests as their favor. You could keep ths tradition by providing small white boxes for the guests to use to transport a piece of cake home. Label the boxes with a sticker of you new monogram. Or, just use tulle to wrap some “hugs” and “kisses” and print up a special thank you tag to tie to the bundle.
Another idea is to make your own mixed CD. Since Bill is also a professional musician and loves music, this is what we chose to do. He used a combination of songs based on our them of “stars” and I designed a cover that I printed on cardstock and cut to fit. We purchased the CDs and jewel cases in bulk and burned the CDs ourselves. It took some time but the guests were so thankful. We still have people talking about our CD eight years later.
If you have some frugal gift ideas, please share them in the comments. We would love to know how you saved money on your wedding!
