This week, my mother had surgery. We were nervous. She has been in pain for fifteen months but they could not find the source. Finally, a surgeon decided that he was almost certain of a hernia and wanted to do surgery.
My Dad and I waited as patiently as we could, knowing that if the surgeon found nothing, my mother would be devastated.
When the surgeon called us back to discuss the results, we were thrilled. He discovered a hernia! I’m not sure he has ever seen a family celebrate over a hernia like we did, but after all this time, we just want our vivacious mom back.
