In my house, we call refrigerated breads “Whop’Ems” because that is what my parents always called them. Why? Because you whop’em with a spoon to get them to open.
Now, we do not dine on these items very often because it is much less expensive to make cinnamon rolls and biscuits from scratch but sometimes, there will be a great deal going and who has the time to make fresh cinnamon rolls in the morning? Seriously? So, when they are on sale, we stock up but an interesting question was passed my way about these items. Can you freeze them?
My gut tells me that since the containers are under such pressure if you toss them in the freezer, they will explode. I could be wrong but I do not want to try it because I would be the one cleaning out the freezer! If you have tried it, let me know your results.
Since freezing the canisters whole is not an option for me, I tried to wrap my mind around an alternative and I think I have it!

- Cover tightly.
- Place in the freezer until frozen.
- Write the date and instructions for baking (from the canister) on a freezer bag.
- Remove from the baking sheet and place bread in the freezer bag.
- Seal and place back in the freezer.
