On nights when you need a little convenience and you stop to pick up a frozen lasagna on the way home, do you ever wonder, “What exactly is ‘calcium chloride, microbial enzymes, textured soy protein concentrate, potassium chloride, autolyzed yeast extract, andĀ calcium lactate’?” Wouldn’t it be nice if you could find a way to prepare meals for your family withoutĀ preservatives, additives, MSGs and food colorants and dyes?
When Marsha Garrett first contacted me about Wildtree… I had to Google it. I had no idea what Wildtree was and was shocked to find such a quality company dedicated to providing families with convenient foods that are natural: mixes, spices, oils, dressings, and much more. Wildtree also has a wide selection of gluten-free products, and soon, their products will carry the proud label of “organic.” Oh, and their facility isĀ nut-free!
Marsha sent me the Taco Seasoning, Banana, Banana Bread, and Kids Cheez Blend to try. A couple of days after it arrived, I was out of ideas for lunch. I wanted to fix something healthy but that the kids would actually eat. Anyone know what I’m talking about?
I remembered the jar of Kids Cheez Blend and inspiration struck. I boiled some edamame and pasta together. While that was cooking, I heated a little milk and stirred in the Kids Cheez Blend.
When the pasta was done, I drained it and mixed in the cheese sauce. In less than 15 minutes, lunch was served.
I felt a great sense of relief that I had not pumped my children full of preservatives. I can pronounce everything on the label and… don’t laugh… the sauce didn’t look fake. (I have put macaroni and cheese in front of my children before and wondered if they were going to glow in the dark after eating it.)
If you are a busy mom and trying to find the balance between convenience and healthy, Wildtree products would be an excellence resource for you. Their mixes will help you quickly put a meal together that will satisfy their cravings while filling their little tummies with goodness.

anytime i ask my 6 year old son if there is something he NEEDS from the store (not wants) he always says chocolate and hot dogs (not that he gets them because we try to keep the hot dogs out of the house and i don’t like the results of him and chocolate).

Unfortunately, most convenience foods are acceptable in our house. We are such an on the go family that I often don’t take the time to cook the way I’d like for my family to eat bc of the lack of easy recipes for those quick nights.
