Last week, when we went through Workboxes 101, I failed to mention a couple of things, like the specialĀ buttons that we use to keep me from having to stand over the children constantly.
HELP
If the children are working on a task that is too difficult or needs additional explanation, they can place the HELP button on their workcard and move on to the next box. As soon as I am available (not working with another child), I can swing by and offer assistance. This keeps me from constantly being pulled away from whatever task I am working on.
WORK WITH MOM
My children really love finding this button on their workcard. Typically, if there is something new that I need to explain or reading required for my non-readers or may just want to spend some face-to-face time with on of the children, I will place this on one of their workboxes.
These two little buttons add some sanity to my life. To download the workcard and buttons, go visit Confessions of a Homeschooler and download the file called My Schedule Strip and Plain Numbers.
