Some how, coastal Mississippi was overlooked in the Year of the Staycation. That’s just not right. And, since the state line is about 15 minutes from my front door, I felt I needed to do them the service of representing!
So, if you are looking for some fabulously frugal ways to have fun along the coast in Mississippi, please check out these great sites:
Desoto National Forest ~ ATV trails, horse riding trails, hiking trails, biking trails… gorgeous. Go get lost in the woods!
Ship Island & Fort Massachusetts ~ Travel by boat to one of the last undeveloped barrier islands in the United States and relax in the uninhabited environment. Restrooms and a small snack bar are available. Tours of the fort are free.
Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve & Coastal Resource Center~ Grab your camera, pack a lunch and get absorbed into the 18,400 acres of lush habitat of birds, butterflies, river otters and bottle-nosed dolphins.
Big Play Family Fun Center ~ This is one of those places that will cost what you make it cost but with a concession stand, arcade, rock climbing wall, extreme jumpers and water wars water balloon, there is something for everyone. And there are a ton of family-friendly places like it.
Bridge Mosaic Mural ~ Visit the longest mosaic in Mississippi – 120 feet long! Four large mosaic panel pieces, depicting the natural beauty of the Mississippi Gulf Coast make up this one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Clay Boyd Spray Park ~ You and your children can enjoy 2,200 square feet of water entertainment, a new playground, benches, and restroom facilities for free! Concessions are available.
With beaches, water sports and SO MUCH MORE, you could spend days soaking up the sun and fun and never do it all. Plus, they even have a huge variety of coupons available HERE.
